In this age where every one, male and female alike are peeling their skins and pretending to be born light skinned, we still have a number of proud black skinned ladies in the Nollywood industry.
In no particular order, here are actresses who were Born black and are still happy rocking their dark skins with pride.
Annie Idibia
It would have been easy for Annie to bleach but no, she didn’t. Today she is the gang leader of the melanin team! Her dark skin glows healthily something we can’t say for many Nollywood actresses in the industry!
Mercy Johnson
This is one actress whose dark skin has become her signature. You can not even imagine a light skinned Mercy, so bleaching is a no- go area for the mother of three. Truth be told however, she deserves an applause for rocking her skin even in the year 2017.
Funke Akindele
Wonders upon wonders, success, fame and wealth have touched this Icon in many areas but not her skin tone. When we met Funke about 20 years ago, she was dark skinned and it is a miracle that we can still pair the before and after photos of Jenifa without pointing at dark knuckles and burnt knees!
