FC Ifeanyi Ubah confident of continental ticket

.The President of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, is still optimistic of his team picking a continental ticket at the end the NPFL league season.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah are fifth on the standings with 50 points behind leaders, Plateau United (59pts), MFM (54 pts), Akwa United (51 pts) and Enyimba (51 pts) going into the final five games of the season.

Ubah said after the Anambra Warriors defeated Nasarawa United 1-0 in a match day 33 fixture Sunday at Nnewi that his side stands a great chance of making the last four, which will earn them a continental ticket..

“Yes, we still have the ambition to return to the continent”, Ubah said with a measure of supreme confidence.

“There are still five matches remaining on the fixtures and I believe we can still make it back to the continent.

“That is our ambition and we’re working hard toward realising it”.

The business mogul, who took sports writers led by the SWAN national president, Honour Sirawoo, round his stadium complex, which now has a glittering electronic score board, listed three premise on which their continental ambition is hinged.

“We have three away games in the remaining five matches of the season. We hope to win one of them, we are working towards that. Once we do that, then the coast is clear for our continental return.

“Then of course, you are aware that our Feeder Team, FC Ifeanyi Ubah Feeders, have qualified for the Federation Cup round of 64.

“We also have the senior team, FC Ifeanyi Ubah, also in the round of 64 Federation Cup.

“Who knows, either of them can still make it to the Federation Cup final triumph which is a ticket for us to return to the African continent next year.”
