A Twitter user @juiciestofjays today shared a story of how she was sexually assaulted by a driver attached to online ride hailing app, Taxify.
She recounted that in establishing a conversation with her, he touched the topic of sexual orientation and she mentioned being a lesbian. The driver then reached out to confirm as according to him, “lesbians don’t react to male touch“.
She has however reported the issue to the Taxify authorities and he was promptly taken off the platform.
We applaud her bravery and we are glad legal action is being taken to deter future perpetrators of this distressing act.
