Deal between West Ham and Man City possible, wages could be issue

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart will have to reduce his wages by at least £75,000 a week if West Ham United are to consider signing him, according to a report by the Mirror.

The newspaper claims the England shot-stopper’s current salary is preventing him from a move to another Premier League side.
Hart has confirmed recently that he has not received any offers to play next season, with his wage demands seemingly too much for another club to take on.

It is believed the Hammers remain keen on bringing the 30-year-old to the London Stadium, however they are unwilling to match what he is currently paid, wanting him to reduce it by almost halfThe highest earner at West Ham is Andy Carroll, who is thought to be on around £100,000 a week, and the east Londoners do not want to make another player earn any higher than that figure.

Hart has had a difficult season since Pep Guardiola’s arrival in Manchester, with the goalkeeper being sent away on loan to Italian side Torino.

He will want to be playing regular first-team football during the up-coming campaign, with the World Cup being played in the summer, so he may have to sacrifice something financially to have the opportunity to impress.

West Ham have alternated between Adrian and Darren Randolph in goal, but the addition of Hart would be a big statement by the ambitious club.
